PINS Project Update

Before the summer, we wrote to you about our participation in the 'PINS Project'. This project is funded by the NHS in collaboration with the DfE and will bring investment to Tyndale to help us make the learning environment even more inclusive than it already is.  We're keeping a PINS Project page on our website as a 'go to area' for all updates so that you can remain fully informed: Click here to see the page.

We are so grateful to those of you who joined us for the first parent meeting in June. Your voice was heard and it was used alongside our pupil voice survey data to compose a school improvement plan for Tyndale to work on this year to further improve our provision for neurodiverse learners - which in turn, will benefit all learners.

We can now share with you which organisations we will be working with to improve provision at Tyndale for all pupils:

1) Firstly, we are pleased to be working with South Glos Parent Carers. The intention of this piece of work will be to continue and ongoingly develop meaningful parent/carer surveys and feedback opportunities for all parents/carers with children on the SEND register. This is because your voice always matters to us.

2) We are working with The Parenting Hearth, who will be delivering some staff training in October to ensure that staff are equipped and supported emotionally when responding to behaviours that challenge. We invest in our staff at Tyndale and want them to be their best selves so that our pupils are always in safe and capable hands!

3) To increase our knowledge and confidence in identifying common mental health needs for all children, including those who are neurodiverse, including when to refer to specialists for support and diagnosis - we are proud to be working with CAMHS.

4) To support children with emotional dysregulation, there will be a piece of work completed with our local Occupational Therapist

5) The local Inclusion Support Services will be working with our school to refine our whole school approach to dysregulation and to support our staff to develop children's motor skills within the classroom, including where these impact handwriting and classroom activities.

6) Finally, we will collaboratively complete a comprehensive review of speech and language practice at Tyndale with the support of Talk Therapy.

We are extremely grateful to be a part of this DfE project due to the opportunities it has provided us with as a school to refine our SEND practice, which will benefit all children.

Second Parent Meeting - 16th October at 9am - 10am in the KS1 Hall

We always want parents and carers to be a part of our school improvement work.  Please come along to our Second Parent Meeting for the PINS Project on Wednesday 16th October at 9am in the KS1 Hall, where we will explore our work to support not just our neurodiverse learners, but all of our learners, and we'd love to hear your thoughts! We look forward to seeing you there.
