Tyndale Primary School

Key Changes to Behaviour and Anti-Bullying Policy

Dear Parents/Carers,

We'd like to thank you for your input in our recent survey.

We completed a pupil, parent and staff voice, and we used this feedback to review two very important policies; Behaviour and Rewards and Anti-Bullying.

We consulted with pupils, parents and staff about both amended policies and our governors have approved the changes made.

The Key Changes:

  • The anti-bullying policy outlines the 'respect' and 'no contact' initiatives we've recently implemented. It also outlines the internal procedures we take as a school to ensure pupils feel safe and happy at Tyndale, every day.

  • The behaviour policy outlines our policy in a simple, easily understood format. There are no changes to daily behaviour procedures.

  • One change evident in both policies is our 'Zero Tolerance' approach to discrimination of any kind. This key change will take effect immediately.

"Where there is evidence of discrimination because of gender, race, ability, sexual orientation, or background, an exclusion will be issued."

"This exclusion will be in accordance with guidance from the DfE ‘Exclusion from maintained schools, academies and pupil referral units in England (September 2017), which can be found here."

Pupils will be informed of this policy change today, but please also talk to them about it at home so that all Tyndale children are aware that we have a zero tolerance approach to discrimination of any kind.

Please find below the new Behaviour and Anti-Bullying Policies. If you would like to discuss these policies, then please book a meeting with me, and I'll be happy to talk these through with you and welcome any feedback.

As always, I'd like to thank you for your continued support.

Kind Regards,

Miss K Parkhouse

(Deputy Headteacher)
