Changes to Staffing in Year 1 and Year 5

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to you to inform you of some upcoming changes to staffing that will affect Year 1 and Year 5.

Ms Vaughan (Year 1 Teacher) will unfortunately be leaving Tyndale at the end of the month to pursue another opportunity. Her last day with us will be Thursday 29th February 2024. The Tyndale Family wishes Ms Vaughan all the very best of luck in her future endeavours and would like to thank her for her contribution to the school during her time with us. 

You may already be aware that Ms Lett (Year 5 Maternity Cover Teacher) is currently employed with us on a temporary basis until the Year 5 Class Teacher (Ms Stewart) returns on 1st May 2024.

I am pleased to announce that Ms Lett was successful in her application to become a permanent teacher at Tyndale. As a result of this recruitment process, Ms Lett will become the new Year 1 Teacher from Monday 4th March 2024. I’d like to congratulate her on this and formally (and permanently) welcome her to Team Tyndale! 

Whilst I understand that this will be unsettling for the Year 5 class until their teacher returns from maternity leave, we fully support Ms Lett in her career development. 

Therefore, from Monday 4th March 2024, Year 5 will have a temporary teacher (who is yet to be appointed) until 1st May 2024. Due to the Easter Holidays, this means that the temporary teacher will only be in post for a total of 32 school days. 

Mr Crouch and I are currently working with supply agencies and running ‘trial days’ to ensure that we select a strong candidate who can continue to support your child to thrive until their substantive teacher returns. As soon as an appointment is made, I will communicate this with you.

The children are all aware of these changes. Year 5 had lots of questions and were reassured that Ms Lett was not leaving and they’d still see her and that their new temporary teacher will only be in place until Ms Stewart comes back on 1st May 2024.

Year 1 were able to formally meet Ms Lett as their new teacher today. Year 1 parents, please feel free to pop up and see Ms Lett in Year 5 if you wish you meet her today. We will arrange some opportunities for her to be around during drop off/pick up prior to Monday 4th March for you to meet her.
