Updated PSHE and RSE (Relationships and SEX Education) Policy
Tuesday 26th March 2024
Dear Parents and Carers,
We recently invited you to complete our PSHE and RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) Parental Consultation and would like to thank you for taking part.
As a school community, we are committed to working in partnership with parents and all stakeholders within it and, as such, your feedback is invaluable.
The results of our survey can be viewed on our website, by clicking here.
We had an overwhelmingly positive response and appreciate your time and consideration of this Programme of Study. I will be working to include your ideas into the offerings of meetings to parents as well as introducing new termly overviews for each year group, which will be sent to you on Thursday.
We are also hosting parental ‘Drop-In’ sessions, where the content of our ‘Changing Me’ RSE curriculum will be shared in more detail. These are on:
- Year 3 - Monday 22nd April 2024 at 3.30pm in the Year 3 Classroom
- EYFS - Thursday 25th April 2024 at 3.30pm in the EYFS Classroom
- Year 1 - Monday 29th April 2024 at 3.30pm in the Year 1 Classroom
- Year 2 - Thursday 2nd May 2024 at 3.30pm in the Year 2 Classroom
- Year 4 - Thursday 9th May 2024 at 3.30pm in the Year 4 Classroom
- Year 5 - Monday 13th May 2024 at 3.30pm in the Year 5 Classroom
- Year 6 - Monday 20th May 2024 at 3.30pm in the Year 6 Classroom
- Whole School Parent Meeting - Tuesday 21st May 2024 at 3.30pm in the Year 6 Classroom
(Full Policy and Right to Withdraw Process)
If you are interested in the RSE policy changes and the content of RSE lessons for your child’s year group, but you are unable to attend, please watch this short video which will give you all the information you need.
The policy now includes our school Protected Characteristics and reading spine document that in the past has been emailed to parents. It now also contains an overview of RSE lessons in each year group where the lessons link to Sex Education being defined as Human Reproduction. You can find the updated policy on our Tyndale website by clicking here.
Yours sincerely
Ms K Parkhouse
