Parking Challenges

Parking

We are aware of the parking difficulties during school drop-off and pick-up times and understand that you need to collect your child/children from school.

The safety of our children is our number one priority. There are a few challenges these times present that we must address to ensure the safety of all children and the community, and we appreciate you working with us on this as a member of the school community.

School Car Park

Firstly, we are unable to open the school car park to parents/carers during these times due to the safety of children. We must ensure that we keep every child safe, and opening the car park would provide a significant risk to many children on site.

Respect for Local Residents

Secondly, respecting the local community and neighbourhoods. Please be respectful and aware of our neighbours to ensure we look after the community (not parking on grass areas) and not prevent residents from accessing their driveways (not parking in front of driveways). Again, this prevents residents from attending appointments they may have or collecting their own children from school.

Traffic Reduction - Tyndale Avenue

Finally, reduce the amount of traffic during this time to prevent accidents. We have noticed an increase in traffic on Tyndale Avenue. There is a lack of parking on Tyndale Avenue, and we would appreciate it if you could look at alternative parking arrangements. There are many streets around the school that are more spacious with safer places to park, and we would appreciate it if you could explore these options and walk to prevent the traffic along Tyndale Avenue and the risk of safety this presents.

Please may I also remind you that we do not allow cycling or riding scooters on the school grounds, which is to ensure the safety of all children and parents and carers. If your child does ride a bike or scooter to school, please ensure your child dismounts and walks when they enter the school site.

Thank you for your ongoing support with this problem, which we must all work together on as members of the school community to ensure we are safe and respectful at all times.

Kind regards,

Mr L Crouch
